Later seasons of Housewives would be invited to stay in opulent hotels in far-flung locations, but on this trip to Vegas, the ladies are staying off the strip. Seventeen miles off the strip, in Red Rock.

They might be the lucky ones though, because their Presidential Suite in the Mojave Desert is very slick. Insurance enthusiast Vicki tries to teach the other wives to play Blackjack but Gretchen Rossi, a woman who wakes in the morning with pageant hair and make-up, pretends not to understand simply to make Vicki crazy. It works.

Gretchen continues making Vicki lose her mind in ways both inventive and banal. While out by the pool, she blows the “hottie whistle” repeatedly. What is a hottie whistle? As Gretchen explains it, it is a whistle one blows when they are a hottie. Ultimately, nothing gets under Vicki’s skin as much as Gretchen ordering a dirty martini, Vicki’s “signature drink” for herself.
