Caroline Stanbury is newly married, pumped full of ovary-stimulating hormones, and ready for a relaxing girls getaway that costs $50,000. Or was that $50,000 a night? It was unclear.

What was clear, however, is how grateful everyone should be to her, and how they should handle her with kid gloves. Chanel Ayan, who did graciously thank her hostess, clearly didn’t get the second part of the memo. When Stanbury starts quibbling with Caroline Brooks about whether getting seed money from your ex is an investment or a dependency, Ayan chimes in that she’s dependent on her husband but doesn’t see anything wrong with that, giving Stanbury an opening to ask her just what it is she does again?

The ensuing eruption threatens to ruin a trip that started out so well: with the women popping balloons on each other and promising to never reveal which married politicians they’ve slept with.

What could be more beautiful than Bali? Well, possibly the gowns these women drape themselves in to eat dinner in their own suite. Ayan’s had a train. A train! And she wasn’t even leaving the hotel!
